2001
Launching the first GSM cell phone service
On February 14, 2001, Sabafon launched Yemen’s first GSM mobile phone service, marking the beginning of mobile telecommunications in the country. In record time, Sabafon became the number one choice in the Yemeni mobile market.
2003
Sabafon extends its coverage from Saada to Al-Mahra.
